Beau Harlan is a native Oregonian who attended Lake Oswego High School and graduated from the University of Nevada in 1990 with a degree in Business Finance and a minor Psychology. In 1993, Mr. Harlan graduated from the University of Puget Sound School of Law. Mr. Harlan married Penny Helland, a graduate from the Washougal High School class of 1986, in 2004. The Harlans have two adorable children and reside in Camas, Washington. The Harlan family is active in the local youth soccer, baseball, cheerleading, and basketball programs.

Beau Harlan started his legal career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney practicing in District Court and the Juvenile Division of the Superior Court in the Benton County, Washington Prosecuting Attorney's office. In 1995, Clark County Prosecuting Attorney, Art Curtis, hired Mr. Harlan as a Clark County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney to work in the Juvenile Division of the Clark County Superior Court. In 1997, Mr. Harlan was promoted to the Clark County Drug Unit, where he was responsible for charging and prosecuting persons accused of felony drug offenses such as Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Heroin, Cocaine, and/or Marijuana; Manufacture Marijuana, and/or Methamphetamine; and Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Methamphetamine, and/or Cocaine. While working with the Clark-Skamania Drug Task Force, Mr. Harlan earned the moniker, "The Hammer," for his aggressive style of prosecution. After serving approximately 18 months in the Clark County Drug Unit, Mr. Harlan was reassigned to a general trial team where he prosecuted adult felony offenses. While serving in the general trial team, Mr. Harlan prosecuted a three week, fifty witness trial and obtained a First Degree Murder Conviction.

In 2000, Mr. Harlan resigned his position with the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney's Office to accept an associate position with the firm Baumgartner, Nelson & Price, P.S. Because of his extensive trial experience in the criminal field, Mr. Harlan quickly developed a reputation as an effective criminal defense attorney. Although in private practice, Mr. Harlan was appointed as a 'Special Deputy Prosecuting Attorney' and hired by Art Curtis to prosecute a defendant suspected of Murder.

In 2001, Mr. Harlan joined forces with Michael Brace and opened the firm of Harlan & Brace, P.S., which practiced in the legal fields of personal injury, criminal defense, and family law. One of the highlights of Mr. Harlan's career as a criminal defense attorney included obtaining a 'Not Guilty' verdict for a client wrongfully accused of murdering a fourteen year old girl. Between 2000 and 2013, Mr. Harlan has earned 'not guilty' jury verdicts and outright dismissals of criminal cases for dozens of clients.

In 2006, Mr. Harlan started the Harlan Law Firm with an emphasis on Personal Injury. While Mr. Harlan maintains a small select criminal caseload, he has dedicated his practice to holding people and companies that needlessly endanger the public accountable by obtaining full and fair compensation for his clients. When a person or company needlessly endangers the public by violating community safety standards, and thereby cause harm to an innocent person, the person or company has a moral and legal obligation to accept responsibility by paying the person injured for all the harms and losses they caused.

Since dedicating his practice to the field of personal injury Mr. Harlan has earned millions of dollars in settlement and jury verdicts for clients injured in motor vehicle accidents, pedestrian accidents, recipients of defective prosthetic implants, victims of dog bites, clients injured as a result of dangerous conditions on public and/or private property, and for family members of a person killed by a drunk driver.
